In most scenarios, all you need is a container full of warm water with a capful of liquid detergent. Next, make sure to add in your clothes and stir them into the solution until they are completely soaked. Gently wring out the clothing to expel excess liquid and gently stretch the clothing back to its original size.
Take a bucket of warm water, add half a cupful of hair conditioner and a squirt of washing up liquid and mix. Add clothes and stir until hair conditioner has covered all fibres. Squeeze clothing to expel excess liquid. Lay flat and manually stretch back to shape then leave to dry.
Depending on the fabric, it is sometimes possible to unshrink garments. For washable fabrics like cotton, you can try soaking the garment in white vinegar for an hour and then wash it in hot water.
The secret ingredient is hair conditioner, of all things. Just like a good conditioner will soften your hair, it can also soften the fibers in your clothes, enabling them to be stretched and revived after an ordeal like shrinking.
“When agitated too much during washing, the barbs lock together, causing felting shrinkage, which is permanent,” Gagliardi says. However, if a cashmere sweater has relaxation shrinkage, it can gently be pulled back to its original shape while it is wet before you lay it flat to dry.

T-shirts or other cotton items that have gone tiny can be stretched if you use this method from Cotton Incorporated: Put 3 tablespoons of hair conditioner in a basin of warm water. Add the shirt and let it soak for about five minutes.
You can, however, use fabric softener to unshrink clothes enough that they will fit again. Fill a bucket or sink with warm water, add a cup of fabric softener and soak your shrunken garment over night. Wring it out and stretch gently while still damp. Spread out to dry and rejoice when it returns to its old form.
Can you fix shrinkage?
You won't fully stop shrinkage, but you can stretch it out. Using a gel that provides a lot of hold will help. You can also pineapple your hair at night to stretch it out, or use a blow dryer on your roots while holding your ends, that way the roots stretch but you still have definition.

Alternative Ideas for Unshrinking a Garment
For woven cotton or linen clothes, pressing with a hot iron will flatten the fibers that have tightened up and sometimes add a bit of room to the body or length to a sleeve. Most woven fabrics cannot be unshrunk.
How do you reverse shrunken wool clothes?
To un-shrink the wool, soak the garment in cold water with a mild wool friendly soap for about 10 minutes. This unlocks the fibres in the wool. Then hang or lay the garment out in a cool place. Stretch the garment out to its original dimensions.
They don't have to be soaked by damp. Then you can either wear them til they are dry (the best way) or do stretches in them til they are loose and hang them til they're dry.
