Jockey Luis Marcano killed in Motorcycle Accident
The racing community was rocked again the night of Jan. 7 as apprentice jockey Luis Yamil Marcano was killed in a motorcycle accident in his native Puerto Rico. He was 19.

McKee, Smith Take Belterra Park Meet Titles
Jockey John McKee and trainer Larry Smith maintained their reigns at Belterra Park at the conclusion of the 2022 meet Oct.11. McKee recorded his fourth consecutive title at the Cincinnati oval, by seven wins over Perry Ouzts.

Belterra Park No Longer Bringing Back Cradle, Bassinet
With plans to revive both the Cradle Stakes and Bassinet Stakes Sept. 2 at Belterra Park Gaming and Entertainment Center, the races will no longer run according to Belterra racing secretary Bill Couch.
