FIFA 23: How to use the player-based difficulty correctly (2024)

You want to be coached by thebest FIFA players in the world? Then take a look at theGAMERS ACADEMY. Mike Labelle, DSFIFAx and Co. are waiting for you.

Basically, there are six difficulty levels in FIFA 23 - beginner, amateur, semi-professional, professional, world class and legendary. Especially gamers who play the career mode often ask themselves which setting is the right one. Even in the last year before the release of EA SPOERS FC, the following rule of thumb applies: "The game should be challenging, but not frustrating." If the games are won too easily, the difficulty can also be increased in an ongoing career. There are also a number of adjustments that can be made. We will go into more detail in this text.

Player based difficulty makes the game more realistic

In FIFA 22 the "player based difficulty" was introduced for the first time. It can be switched on and off in the "Game Settings" under "Game". If the option is activated, particularly good players act like players of a higher difficulty level. If you play against Kylian Mbappé on "Pro", for example, he will act like a kicker on "World Class" level thanks to player-based difficulty. This also applies vice versa, so that weaker players are weakened by one level through the option.

Customised CPU settings

EA SPORTS also gives players the option to adjust individual attributes of the CPU. Under the tab "CPU: Customise Gameplay" there are a total of 16 sliders, which are set to 50 - i.e. neutral - by default. Here you can, among other things, increase or decrease the attack, the hardness of the shot, the miss rate or the width in the game of the bot. The same attributes can also be adjusted for your own players under "User: Adjust Gameplay". These settings can not only help you to adjust the gameplay to your own preferences. They can also be adapted for training purposes, for example if you want to improve your passing game and make it harder for yourself.

The article touches upon several key concepts in FIFA gaming:

  1. Difficulty Levels: FIFA 23 offers six difficulty levels: beginner, amateur, semi-professional, professional, world class, and legendary. These levels cater to gamers of varying skill levels, allowing them to find a suitable challenge while ensuring the game remains enjoyable without being overly frustrating.

  2. Career Mode Difficulty: Players engaging in the career mode often contemplate the appropriate difficulty setting. The principle emphasized is finding a balance where the game presents a challenge without causing excessive frustration. Adjusting difficulty mid-career is suggested if the gameplay becomes too easy or too difficult.

  3. Player-Based Difficulty: Introduced in FIFA 22, this feature adjusts player behavior based on their skill level settings. For instance, activating this option would make a highly skilled player like Kylian Mbappé perform at a higher level even when set to a lower difficulty, enhancing the realism of gameplay.

  4. Customized CPU Settings: FIFA 23 provides extensive customization through CPU settings. Players can tweak individual attributes like attack strength, shot accuracy, and player width for both the CPU and their own team. These settings not only cater to personal preferences but also serve as valuable tools for skill improvement through customized training scenarios.

  5. Gamers Academy: The Gamers Academy is a prominent FIFA coaching platform aimed at enhancing gamers' skills worldwide. Utilizing AI-based coaching methods, they aim to help players improve, whether for personal enjoyment, to compete with friends, or even aspire to become professional gamers.

  6. Online Club and Coaching: The Gamers Academy offers club memberships and coaching sessions, positioning themselves as a global leader in FIFA coaching, providing insights and strategies to help players become the best in the game.
