The accounts people will say they plays more important role than the finance people, whereas the finance people will say that they play more important role than the accounts people. But in reality, for any business to succeed, both accounting and finance goes hand in hand. Each one of them depends on one another for the smooth functioning of any business.

In general terms, accounting refers to recording the financial activities and finance refers to managing the financial activities of any business. Accounting comes into picture after the financial activity is carried out, whereas finance comes into picture before the financial activity is carried out. Basically, accounting depends on the happenings of the financial activity. After reading this, you may be wondering that finance plays the major role, but the let me clarify this, the financial decisions depends upon the accuracy of the accounts. Suppose, in your accounts, it is showing that you have INR 100, and based on that you made a decision of buying a chocolate of INR 100. Yes, there are many other areas of business which has crucial role in success of any business, but without these two areas, the business is as good as a hole in a boat.
